The Neerigen Brook Culvert, located on Carradine Road, Armadale between Albany Highway and Angorra Road, was replaced and upgraded by DCL. The old culvert was unable to handle the volume of water passing through it, necessitating this project.

Initially identified under the asset renewal budget as a like-for-like replacement, the project scope expanded after an inspection by an external Civil Engineering Consultant. It was determined that the existing pipes were undersized and required upgrading with modern technology and materials, transforming it into a significant project.

The culvert is situated at the direct exit of a major highway (Albany Highway), in close proximity to Armadale Primary School, and at the trailhead of local hiking trails. The works necessitated the temporary closure of both major streets that carry local traffic to the main highway.

DCL completed all works with our Project management, engineering and skilled trades operatives. Works were completed ahead of schedule in under 8 weeks. DCL’s scope included:
