DCL recognised in the Department of Defence State Employer Support Awards.

These awards recognise civilian employers who demonstrate exceptional support for reservists in the Australian Defence Force, highlighting their commitment and contributions to the workforce. These awards celebrate employers who have gone above and beyond to assist their reservist employees, whether through flexible work arrangements, training opportunities, or other supportive measures. The awards are held annually, and DCL was a nominee in the Medium Private Sector category.

In this instance DCL was nominated by its Business Manager who is an Officer in the Australian Army, currently posted to the Headquarters of the 1st Australian Division. His nomination described the outstanding support and flexibility provided to him by DCL which allowed to meet his Defence service requirements, and particularly, to be able to deploy for extensive periods of time at short notice despite the inconvenience this caused the business, and the measures that had to be put in place to cover his duties.

These awards not only provide recognition to employers but also promote a culture of support and understanding between civilian workplaces and the Defence Force. By acknowledging the contributions of employers, the awards help to strengthen the relationship between reservists and their civilian jobs, ultimately benefiting both parties and enhancing Defence capability.

DCL is a proud supporter of Defence, its veterans and the Reservist who work in the business.

SUPPORTING “R U OK” AT DCL

At DCL, we believe that mental health and wellbeing are just as important as safety on site and performance at work. That’s why we proudly supported R U OK? Day, a national initiative that reminds us all to stay connected and check in with those around us.

The simple question, “Are you OK?”, can make a big difference. By encouraging open conversations and fostering a culture of care, we can help support colleagues, friends, and family who might be going through a tough time.

This year, our team came together to raise awareness, share resources, and remind each other that it’s OK to not be OK —and that support is always available.

At DCL, we’re committed to creating a workplace where mental health is openly talked about and where every team member feels valued, supported, and connected.

DCL ACHIEVE MRWA PRE-QUALIFICATIONS

DCL is proud to announce that we have achieved R1 Pre-qualification with Main Roads Western Australia (WA) under the National Prequalification System for Civil (Road and Bridge) Construction Contracts. This milestone is an important recognition of our capability, systems, and commitment to quality in delivering road-related infrastructure projects across Western Australia.

The R1 Pre-qualification category represents the first step in a nationally recognised framework that ensures contractors are appropriately qualified to deliver road and bridge works. At DCL, we are committed to delivering safe, innovative, and cost-effective solutions for our clients, while supporting the long-term development of Western Australia’s transport infrastructure.

ST PATRICKS DAY 2025 – PERTH WA

On 17 March 2025, the streets of Perth came alive with music, colour, and community spirit as thousands gathered to celebrate the annual St Patrick’s Day Parade. DCL was proud to be part of this fantastic event, showcasing our team and joining the wider community in celebrating Irish culture and heritage.

Our staff, family, sponsorship teams and friends came together under the DCL banner, walking proudly through the parade with plenty of green on display. It was a great opportunity to connect with the community, celebrate diversity, and share in the joy and energy that the parade brings every year.
